Day 5 – Azabudai Hills, Tokyo
For our final day in Tokyo, we visited one of the most anticipated spots of the entire trip: the teamLab Borderless art museum. Words can hardly capture how breathtaking this experience was. From rooms that transformed over time to separate immersive spaces that felt almost psychedelic in nature, the museum offered a sensory experience unlike anything I’ve seen. Some rooms even changed scents as you walked through them, adding another layer to the interactivity. The images I captured during the visit do more justice than anything I could describe here, but without a doubt, teamLab Borderless was one of the highlights of the trip.
After the incredible museum visit, we were given the rest of the day to explore freely. Anh and I decided to take a short trip to Tokyo Tower, which was only a few minutes away from the museum. The views from the tower were absolutely stunning. Standing at the second-highest observation deck, we had a panoramic view of the Tokyo skyline an awe-inspiring moment that left us both speechless. After resting and enjoying the view, we ventured out to wrap up our time in the city with some personal sightseeing. Naturally, this included more thrift shopping in the lively streets of Akihabara, where we hunted for unique finds and souvenirs. To end our day (and our time in Tokyo) on a high note, we treated ourselves to a hearty meal of juicy steaks from a local steakhouse/winery. It was the perfect way to close out our Tokyo chapter filled with beauty, art, exploration, and indulgence.
